Abdullahi Hussein during the autumn repeatedly received death threats after his criticism of the Ethiopian regime. Now he gets the protection of SAPO.
The attacks on the civilian population of Ethiopian Ogaden province has increased. It says the former presidential co-worker in Ethiopia, Abdullahi Hussein, who fled to Sweden a year ago.
After the documentary Dictatorship prisoners were sent here on SVT during the fall Abdullahi Hussein received death threats and now receives police protection.
He challenged the leadership of the Ethiopian Ogaden province and handed 100s of hours of footage to Swedish prosecutors.
Now he threatened to life in Sweden. He does not look the least bit upset, but he is aware that there are those who want to murder him. He gets the patronage of SAPO and live in a police shelters.
- I feel safe and appreciate SAPO's actions, says Abdullahi Hussein.

He worked in the Ogaden province's government media office and was an adviser to the state president.
But when he saw that the regime systematically subjecting civilians to torture, murder and rape, he chose to flee to neighboring Kenya.
Before the defection he copied, for the regime sensitive film material.SVT's Africa Correspondent John Ripa met Abdullahi Hussein in the Kenyan capital Nairobi and then got parts of revealing films that first aired in SVT's news program and now held by Swedish prosecutors.
Later, even more movies smuggled out of Ethiopia.
- State President trying to clean away all the evidence against him and his closest associates, says Abdullahi Hussein, adding that they are afraid to become international fugitives. 

Has been threatened several times

When Abdullahi Hussein came to Sweden he was threatened for life, but after a while there was silence. When he appeared in the SVT documentary Dika this agency prisoners he received new threats.
- I have friends left in the Ogaden who told me that the president is trying to hire criminals to take my life in Sweden, he says.                          
Still think he continue to report the abuse in the Ethiopian province.
