President Obama's Decision to Travel to Ethiopia is very Troubling Jeffrey Smith Robert F. Kennedy Center for justice and Human Rights (AFP) - President Barack Obama will in late July become the first sitting American leader to visit Ethiopia and the headquarters of the African Union, the White House said Friday. Obama will meet both the Ethiopian government and AU leaders, for talks on how to "accelerate economic growth, strengthen democratic institutions and improve security." A presidential visit to Kenya had been put on ice while President Uhuru Kenyatta faced charges of crimes against humanity for his role in 2007-2008 post-election violence. The International Criminal Court has since suspended that prosecution, citing a lack of evidence and Kenya's failure to cooperate. Human rights groups have questioned the visit to Kenya, but are also asking why Obama is visiting Ethiopia so soon after a contested election. Africa's second most populo

Rally to demand President Obama cancel the planned visit to Ethiopia  President Obama, your plan to shake hands and dine with the Ethiopian dictators/TPLF rules confirms that you only support democracy in words, not in your actions. Many local and international institutions including your own government’s state department report confirm that Ethiopia is one of the worst countries when it comes to human rights. The TPLF regime is one of the highest jailer of journalists, the most fake election with 100% claims, corrupt and crony oligarchy system which deprives its citizens of economic opportunities, forces its people to migration and expose them for human trafficking, humanitarian disaster, and slavery, jails and murders opposition members and commits many more atrocities. To bless such a totalitarian regime with official state visit would be showing no regard to the values and principles you and the USA stand for, freedom and liberty of humanity. Honor your own words
Amnesty International Asks Ethiopia to Investigate Suspicious Murders and Human Rights Violations  The suspicious murder of opposition leaders and wide-spread human rights violations against opposition party members over the past few weeks raises questions about Ethiopia’s elections, said Amnesty International as the parliamentary poll results were announced yesterday. The organization has also expressed concerns about the failure of the Africa Union Elections Observer Mission (AUEOM) and the National Elections Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) to properly monitor and report on allegations of widespread abuses before, during and after the election. “Amnesty International has received a number of reports concerning the deaths of political opposition figures in suspicious circumstances, as well as of a pattern of human rights violations against political opposition parties throughout the election period. These reports must be investigated and perpetrators brought to justice,” s

Popular Opposition Party Semayawi Leadership Beaten and Stabbed to Death by Ethiopia's TPLF Security Operatives A young, fearless, intelligent, and peaceful man that hails from the small town of Debre Markos in The Amhara Regional State, has been beaten to death by the ruling junta (TPLF) security operatives. Even though Samuel was taken to a nearby hospital, he was determined dead on site during the beating. Semayawi Party officials told ESAT Radio on an interview that he was beaten and stabbed to death near his house by the main bus station in Debre Markos city around 7PM on Monday June, 15, 2015. His face was horribly mutilated by beating and stabbing and he lost a lot of blood. He was determined dead before he was even reached the nearby hospital. The Washington based ESAT Radio also replayed the audio of Samuel's interview before the election last month stating that he was taken to the woods by TPLF security agents. He said "two
