Thanking the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia for Standing and Walking on the Right Side of History On October 18, 2017, the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia issued the following  statement : " United States sees peaceful demonstrations as a legitimate means of expression and political participation .   We note with appreciation a number of recent events during which demonstrators expressed themselves peacefully , and during which security forces exercised restraint in allowing them to do so. We are saddened by reports that several recent protests ended in  violence and deaths .  All such reports merit  transparent investigation that allows those responsible for violence to be held accountable. We encourage all Ethiopians to continue to express their views peacefully, and encourage Ethiopian authorities to permit peaceful expression of views.   More generally, we encourage constructive, peaceful, and inclusive national discourse on matters of importance to Ethiopian citizens. UNHCR staff in Kenya accused of demanding bribes, sexual favors by Ethiopian political refugees ESAT News (October 10, 2017) Staff of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Nairobi, Kenya have been accused by Ethiopian political refugees of demanding bribes and even sexual favors to facilitate their applications for refugee status. In a damning article published on The Star of Kenya, Ethiopian refugees gave accounts of how staff at the UNHCR office in Nairobi demand money and sexual favor from women in return for advancing their refugee applications. “I am now in limbo. But I fear that if I get registered or seek resettlement without paying the bribe to officers, they will blow up my cover. If Ethiopian security forces, which have a massive presence here, know that I am here, they will abduct me and I will face the same fate of more than 100 of my colleagues, who have been abducted by combined Kenyan and Ethiopian forces, tortured and sent back

    ለትግሉ :- አስተዋፅዖ የምናደርግባቸው መንገዶች የተለያዮ ሊሆኑ ይችላሉ። ለምሳሌ ;- ከፊሉ በገንዘብ የማይተመን ህይወቱን ሲሰጥ ከፊሉ ደግሞ በሙያው እና በእውቀቱ አስተዋፅ   ያደርጋል፣ ሌላው ደግሞ   የገንዘብና የቁሳቁስ ድጋፍ በማድረግ   ለትግሉ ያለውን አጋርነት ያሳያል። ለትግሉ አስተዋፅዖ የምናደርግባቸው መንገዶች የተለያዩ ይሁኑ እንጅ ግባችን ግን አንድ ነው!       ነፃነት እንግዲህ ለዚህ ለነፃነት ለሚደረግ የትግል ጉዞ ደግሞ ሚዲያ ወሳኝ ሚና ይጫወታል። የናዚ ወያኔም ሰው በላ ሥርዓት የሚዲያን ወሳኝነት ጠንቅቆ ስለሚያውቅ ነው ሚዲያዉን ተቆጣጥሮ የፈለገውን እና የሚመቸውን ፕሮፓጋንዳ እየነዛ በሕዝብ እና በሐገር ላይ ከፍተኛ ሸፍጥ እየፈፀመ የሚገኘው። ይህ ፋሺስት ስርዓት ሐገር ሸጥዋል፣ትውልድ እንደቅጠል አርግፉዋል ፣በሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ወግኖቻችን   በየእስር ቤቱ ይህ ነው የማይባል እና በቃላት ተዘርዝሮ የማያልቅ ወንጀል እየተፈፀመባቸው የወገን ያለህ እያሉ ነው፣የመኖር ህልውናችንን አሳጥቶ በስደት በየበረሀው እንድንታረድ አድርጎናል * ፤ለዚህ ብሄራዊ ውርደታችንም አታልቅሱ፣አታውግዙ ተብለን በአደባባይ ተደብድበናል ፣የሐገራችንን አንጡራ ሐብት መዝብሩዋል፣ታሪካችንን አውድሙዋል፣ብሄራዊ ማንነታችንን አሳልፎ ሰጥቱዋል፤የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀሎች ተፈፅመዋል፤የበደኖው፣የጋምቤላው ሰቆቃ ፣የኦሮሞ እና የሶማሌ ወገኖቻችን እልቂት የሚረሳ አይደለም። እንግዲህ ይህ የወገን ሰቆቃ እና መከራ እንቅልፍ የነሳቸው ወገኖቻችን ናቸው ለታፈ
